Performance

The F-TYPE has six engine options, so you’ll want to do some homework before deciding which model is right for you. One thing they all have in common is an Active Sport Exhaust system that gives you a true race-car experience by reacting to throttle position, speed, and engine revs with open active valves, producing an assertive sound.

New this year is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 296 horsepower and 296 lb-ft of torque, an ideal option for drivers just entering the luxury performance market. The F-TYPE also comes available with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that makes 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.

2018 F-TYPE R-Dynamic models come with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that produces 380 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, while 400 Sport models have the same engine, modified to make 400 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. F-TYPE R and SVR models have 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engines that make a respective 550 and 575 horsepower and 502 and 516 lb-ft of torque.

The Jaguar sports car comes standard with rear-wheel drive, and upper trims come available with all-wheel drive. Depending on the model, you have the option between a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.
